Super Street Fighter 2 hits VC with online

The Genesis/Mega Drive version of Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers is now available on the Virtual Console for 800 Wii Points. But it’s not just a simple port: It features online play so you can bust some face with Dee Jay & Co. all over the world. Pretty sweet!

Sega All-Stars Racing sequel announced

Say what you will, but Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing was a pretty damn good take on the Fun Racing genre. Apparently I wasn’t the only one who enjoyed it, as Sega has recently announced the sequel, Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed. It’s once again being developed by Sumo Digital and will feature transforming vehicles, as well as Vyse from Skies of Arcadia and Gilius Thunderhead from Golden Axe as new characters. I’m sold. The game will come out “late 2012″ for Xbox 360, PC, PS3, Vita, and 3DS. You can check out a gallery of the game, courtesy of SOA here.

No more Bayonetta

Bad news: It looks like everyon’es favorite voluptuous witch-vixen will not make a return after all: Sources close to Sega and/or Platinum Games have leaked that a sequel to the phenomenal Bayonetta has been shelved indefinitely. The game was reportedly in pre-production but had to be canceled because of Sega’s financial losses last year.

Here’s hoping that we’ll get another game down the line after all. The first one was definitely awesome enough to warrant a sequel.

The Angry Birds Theme Park

An Angry Birds theme park has opened up. No, really. The franchise that should have never been a franchise keeps expanding at a ridiculous rate and has led to the creation of a theme park in Finland where you can…I dunno, do stuff I guess. Who cares. I don’t want to live on this planet anymore.

Black Ops 2 is real and looks…interesting

Okay, so most of you have probably already know this but: Black Ops 2 was confirmed and will hit store shelves on Nov 13th. And believe it or not, this time it looks as if there was actually some innovation employed in the development process (gasp!) as Black Ops 2 will drop you “into a near future, 21st Century Cold War, where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare.” The game’s reveal trailer, which you can check out below, certainly does look pretty futuristic. Soo…this game’s setting is actually more modern than that of Modern Warfare? Well I’d never.

History of Sonic will be published in English

French publisher Pix’n Love have announced that their shiny new book (which kids today probably know as “a non-digital Kindle”) The History of Sonic will be published in English at the end of June. Originally released in French, it wasn’t quite clear whether it would get a translation or not; but now Sonic fans can rest easy, at least until pre-orders start. Man, I gotta get me some of that.

A new Kingdom Hearts to be announced soon

Tetsuya Nomura has stated in an interview that a new Kingdom Hearts title will be announced pretty soon – which means it’ll probably happen at E3. And lo and behold, reportedly it will not be a “Final Mix” version of Dream Drop Distance. Let me predict something, Square-Enix: Unless it’s Kingdom Hearts 3, nobody will care.

Persona 4 Golden will hit USA

RPG-fans are in for a treat, as Atlus USA have announced that they will localize Persona 4 Golden, an enhanced version of the PS2 classic for the PSVita. The official website has already gone live, even though there’s not much to see yet. The game will hit US store shelves some time this fall, where it can finally be picked up by Vita owners everywhere. Yes, all 4 of them. TROLLOLOLOLOL
